9 Eye Creams / Masks for Puffy Under Eyes

Remember the good ole’ days when you were in your early twenties and you didn’t have any puffiness or bags under your eyes? Well, that’s a nice memory for you because I had some FIERCE puffy under eyes fanfare going on at that point in my life. There are a few too many grainy selfie pics from 2012 (the year I got my first iPhone) that can attest to this sad sad fact.

Here I am at 23 with Josh, the cat — very tired, very puffy under the eyes.

Like, these issues start so early, it isn’t even fair! The puffiness you see in this picture is partly because the lifestyle I was living back then involved a lot of salt and alcohol, but it’s also because they are very genetic. I’ll have these bags till I die! In this Hopkins Medicine article, Shaun Desai, M.D., states that “the most common cause of under-eye bags or puffiness is natural aging.” He explains that “older skin becomes too lax and tends to fall and wrinkle. The muscles and tissue around the eye can also weaken and contribute to the baggy look. This weakening allows the fat surrounding the eye to bulge out, creating that bubble-like appearance.”

WELL! Life isn’t fair, ladies, but the universe was generous enough to give us eye cream (and masks!). So here’s my roundup of products to improve the look and feel of your under eye area.

Also, I go into a little bit of detail about under eye dark circles in this blog post I’m linking here!

1. 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream

Ok, I’ve mentioned this eye cream in almost every single blog post I’ve written now. I use it every morning, it literally smells like coffee. Just go buy some.

2. GOOPGENES All-In-One Nourishing Eye Cream

In an 8 week clinical study on this product, 91% of users “agreed that the product significantly decreased the appearance of undereye puffiness (undereye bags).” Also, who isn’t dying to try a Goop product, am-I-right?!

3. 100% Pure Bright Eyes Mask

These eye masks are highly caffeinated to eliminate that ultra-puff and have cucumber, hyaluronic acid and aloe juice for the ultimate hydration. On the 100% Pure website, this product has 590 5-Star reviews!!

4. Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Hydra-Gel Eye Masks

Put these caffeine and cucumber extract enriched eye patches in the fridge to get the ultimate cooling effect to reduce puffiness.

5. Q&A Caffeine Eye Serum

Here’s an option that’s under $10!! It obviously has caffeine in it, but is also full of probiotics, green tea and pomegranate. Reviewers say the roller ball doesn’t always work the best but I’d take a roller ball malfunction any day for a product so inexpensive.

6. Revolution Skincare Targeted Under Eye Serum

Another affordable option here, this serum is marketed as a “double espresso for tired eyes” but does include warnings about discontinuing use if irritation occurs – making me think there’s an amazing amount of caffeine in it.

7. DHC Eye Bright Depuffing Gel

Our second option they recommend to place in the fridge for a few minutes before applying. This formula is very lightweight and absorbs quickly into your skin, the website suggests you even put in on your lids!

8. Cellex-C Under Eye Toning Gel

You’ll get a nice little tingly sensation when using this toning gel due to the Eucalyptus Oil and Peppermint Extract.

9. TONYMOLY Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick

The most fun option, IMO! It’s literally a panda you can keep in your purse when you need an under eye pick me up!!! AND, it’s under $15! Get outta here!!!!!

We’re all in this together! If you have any products/tips/tricks that you’ve found reduce your puffy under eyes, travel on over to my Facebook page and leave a comment for discussion! Otherwise, have a great day and enjoy this beautiful life!!
